You are the first and last contact of our guests. Therefore, you make sure they feel welcome, and the positive feeling stays during their stay. "Oh, you are celebrating your wedding anniversary in Amsterdam? Congratulations!", and immediately note that the couple receives a bottle of champagne and in their room. You also make sure that this is overhanded to the afternoon shift if they need to take care of it. And is there a guest that is looking for the meetings floor? Then you show the way in a clear, detailed, and friendly approach. Everything with a smile and empathy, even during complains. You are always in the spotlight and perform on the stage of Mövenpick. You work hard, even if your shift is running a bit later, for the guests that will choose our hotel again. There are no limits to your abilities. In addition, you will be:

• A person that is open for challenges.
• A person that is always open to assists all operational departments, for example Front Office, if necessary;
• The point of contact for all questions in the hotel, from a to z.
• Familiar with safety and hygiene standards, as it is important to you that these are observed by guests and colleagues.
• A person with an eye for detail: you do quality tours of the hotel rooms and public areas and make sure they are described in the daily duty report.
• The face of our hotel and therefore you have a strong sense of responsibility to make sure that our guests have a good experience in the hotel;
• A natural "drive" to get to know our guests and exceed their expectations as well as researches how we can improve our hotel services.

In this position, you will work different shifts according to busy times or events, in agreement with the other Manager on Duty.

You will work in a hotel that works together with the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, a total combined conference space of over 1900 m2, including 11 modern and spacious conference and directors’ rooms. Through the emergence of ijVENUES, Amsterdam’s new exhibition centre, everything only becomes bigger and better. On a lovely, sunny day, you can choose between a 10-minute walk or a 5-minute cycle ride from the central station. Or you can hop on the tram from the other side of our hotel. In short: we have it all.

Don’t work. Do what you love instead
You always start your day with a tour of the hotel to check that everything looks good and is safe. You make sure you are up to date with everything that is happening or about to happen in the hotel and through good communication you stay ahead of things and solve them in a creative way. You act as a liaison between the guests, the management team, and all operational departments in the hotel. Although there is an administrative aspect to the role as Manager on Duty, most of the time you will be in operations, on the floor. Moreover, when things escalate, you will be the person responsible for a smooth recovery from any incidents or complaints. There are no limits to your abilities. In addition, you will be:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as Front Office Shiftleader or a similar leadership role within the hotel industry in a medium-sized (Accor) hotel.
• Preferably knowledge of the Opera IT system.
• Fluent written and spoken knowledge of the English language, and preferably the Dutch language as well.

We offer
Of course, we want you to have an optimal experience at Mövenpick. That’s why we are offering:

• A monthly gross salary of between €2.263 and €2.567 in accordance with scale 6 of the Collective Labour Agreement for the Dutch hospitality and catering industry based this is based on 80% 4 days per week. 
• A parttime contract of 30,4 hours - 4 days per week.
• 20 leave days and time off for any overtime.
• Extra day off during your birthday month.
• A travel allowance up to €160 per month,  on the basis of the actual number of kilometres.
• A night-shift allowance of 20% and a Sunday allowance of 5%.
